About Our Gallery

The Gallery situated in one of the oldest and most beautiful of Launceston's Heritage buildings, right in the heart of the central business district, is a working space for art classes, exhibitions and is also Leoni Duff's professional studio.

Taking a fresh new approach to the way an art gallery operates, Leoni has created an artistic sanctuary where art is constantly being created and exhibited. Artists meet and are inspired during classes twice a week, learning is constant, new works are hung in the superb exhibition space, visitors may watch artists at work and browse the new works on display and visiting artists and expert teachers are regularly invited to add to the rich fabric of art culture in the Leoni Duff Galleries.

The Gallery represents a range of artists at varying levels of professional accomplishment, and many of the regular exhibitors are prize winning artists in their own right.

A programme of solo exhibitions happens during the year, with Leoni selecting varied and exciting Tasmanian artists to present to the public.

In 2010, exhibitions were held ofthe works of John Gibb, Tasmanian watercolour landscape artist,

Catriona Maclaine, ' Showtime', an exhibition of exciting and thought provoking acrylic and pastel works on the theme of the side show alley and it's people.

Leoni Duff, 'The Sensations of Europe” a collection of new landscape and figurative works as a response to the human condition and the European history and culture experienced in a recent overseas tour through the major galleries and art collections.

The exhibition 'An Affair with Colour' featuring the abstract acrylic work of I Grant Koch was held in June 2010

During July to October,2011 the gallery will be hosting an exhibition titled "Intimate Pastels...A Collection of Master Works in Pastel", featuring the work of Leoni Duff, Clare Holder, Noela Coles and June Wilson.
